Giving Back to Our Anne Arundel County Community

Emerald Financial Partners was founded in Annapolis, Maryland, in 1980.  Since then, we have volunteered hundreds of hours to support local community initiatives.  We firmly believe in giving back to the communities in which we live and work!  Here are some of the recent charities and initiatives we have supported:

Volunteers of America®

For this Holiday season, Emerald Financial Partners is sponsoring Volunteers of America Chesapeake & Carolina’s by Adopting a Family for the holiday. The Adopt a Family program gives hope to many local children and families in need across the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia. They help thousands of people each year through their programs. The programs are designed to help Neighbors who experience homelessness or are at risk to be homeless, Individuals with mental illness, individuals with intellectual disabilities, those in need of supportive services, those recovering from substance abuse addictions, those in community corrections, as well as veteran services.

The Wellness House

The mission of The Wellness House of Annapolis is to provide support, education, and services to help individuals and families who have been touched by cancer recover their health and well-being in a home-like environment.  Our volunteers washed and painted fences to prepare for the installation of a fairy garden and also volunteered at the annual BBQ!

A SENIOR Prom for Future Care Seniors

As active members in Thrive Business Communities we helped throw a prom for seniors at FutureCare Health & Management.

The team brought in generational music, decorations, corsages and a party atmosphere to the main dining area of the center. Volunteers from Thrive! Arundel provided free make-up for the ladies, wrist corsages and wheel-chair dancing with the residents.  It's just another way we enjoy giving back to the community in which we live and work!

Senior Dog Sanctuary

Along with members of Thrive! Arundel, we helped provide time and resources to the Senior Dog Sanctuary in Severn, MD.  This organization provides a permanent safe haven for senior dogs who are unable to be cared for by their owners, who have been abandoned or abused or face euthanasia.

Emerald Supports Fish for a Cure!

Emerald Financial Partners is proud to support the Annual Fish For a Cure fundraiser to benefit the Geaton and Joann DeCesaris Cancer Institute at AAMC.  This worthy cause helps local families, affected by cancer, with a fully-funded nurse navigator program that provides critical services to cancer patients and their families, including nurse navigation, education, genetics counseling, support groups, social work, and psychology services.

Our own Christy Bennett Rawlings serves as the Chairperson for the Thrive! Arundel Giving Back committee and led the group's 4th quarter efforts by organizing a poker tournament to raise funds for the local charity.  Emerald Financial Partners matched the first $1000 raised at the poker tournament. Our team has collectively raised over $14,000 in 2019 for this local cause.

"We are excited to support this local organization that impacts our community in such a positive way," commented Valerie McLaughlin, CEO of Emerald Financial Partners.

If you'd like to contribute to our goal, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to our team!
